Great Gatsby Themed Baby Shower Cake

    Vintage 20s Baby Shower Cake

We’ve been a huge fan of Alice Vitarelli ever since she highlighted our bakery in her TV Show “Best Kept Secrets of NJ”. So you can imagine we were absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to create her baby shower cake!

Her Great Gatsby themed baby shower shows off delicate pearls draped around the tiers with lace and feathers to celebrate a baby girl’s arrival. The pregnant mommy stands proud on top with the stroller and cupcakes are wrapped with filigree liners to add more to this elegant cake for a baby shower.

    Mama Khoobs Parrot Tulip Cake

Delft tulip vase cake with parrot tulips

Mama Khoob’s (Anne’s mom) is a fixture at the bakery. So when we were commissioned to create a cake for her surprise birthday party, Anne and the staff wanted to make it a unique cake that reflected Mama Khoob’s interests. Anne describes the cake best in her post:

Year’s ago, my mom and I saw a gorgeous 17th century Delft Tulip Vase filled with fabulous parrot tulips. I kept the picture in my ‘one day I will make a cake like this’ pile. Well, I couldn’t think of a better event to make this cake – especially because my mom loves parrot tulips and has a ridiculous green thumb!

    Sweet 16 Princess Cake

    Turquoise Sweet 16 Cake

I think every parent wants their daughter to feel like a princess, especially when celebrating a milestone like a Sweet 16. This cake captures the elegance of a growing woman with a touch of fairy tale we hope they hold on to. The top of the tier captures the essence of every princess with a silver scrolled tiara with clear crystals that sits atop an ivory tier with a “16” pattern with silver dots between. Blue hydrangea and garden roses are in clusters throughout the cake and a silver rope sits at the bottom of each tier. The second tier is in turquoise with a white damask pattern and a plaque with the birthday girl’s name. The third tier is an ivory quilted with matching turquoise medallions with a silver piped design. The bottom tier comes together with the beautiful turquoise and a white scrolled pattern.

    JJ’s First Birthday Cake

    1st Birthday Giraffe Cake

This cake is asked about time and time again because of the cute giraffe and fun colors that is perfect for a little one’s birthday. The oversized giraffe on top of the tier holds tight to his balloon and a number one to celebrate JJ’s first birthday. The top tier has polka dotted white frosting dripping down the lime green tier with rolled fondant balls at the base. The second tier in light blue shines bright with stars and Jesse’s name in 2D cut outs with stripes running through alternating letters. The bottom tier ties in more colors with polka dotted stripes and yellow frosting dripping over the top. The back shows a cute tag stamped with “love mommy”.

    Doggy Groom’s Basketball Cake

    Pink Cake Box Cake

We receive a lot of requests for sculpted dogs, not only for groom’s cakes but for birthdays and a number of other celebrations. This particular cake was a groom’s cake of the couple’s French bulldog with a basketball “chew” toy at his feet.

    Circus Clown First Birthday Cake

Animal and Circus Close Birthday Cake

Circus themed cakes are popular for children of all ages and work well for both boys and girls! In addition, this cakes adds cute animal figurines which was another frequently requested item for 2013.

This particular cake has a cute clown popping out of the top holding onto the birthday girl’s age. The top tier has a fun red and yellow circus tent theme with an elephant hanging out in his party hat. The second tier in blue with fun circus like circles has a monkey hanging on with his party hat. The bottom tier finishes off with red and white stripes and a lion in his party hat sitting nicely on the side. Our favorite little guy is the Ring Master Teddy Bear that holds onto a ball with the inscription “Muah” which has a very special meaning to the birthday girl.

Find more children cakes in our gallery here. We also have a whole section devoted to animal themed cakes!

We are excited for the new year to bring in fresh ideas and see what will be topping our favorite list for the upcoming year!
